Rossmann announced it plans to have 1,000 stores in its Polish network by the end of 2014. The company currently has 700 stores operating in the country with the most recent opening at IKEA’s Targówek shopping center in Warsaw.
“Despite the economic slowdown and the growing competition, we plan to move on with our expansion in order to maintain the growth rate level at several percent annually,” said Marek Maruszak, head of Rossmann.
The company hopes to start work on a warehouse project in Pyskowice in the fourth quarter of 2013 in an investment worth PLN 70m.
