RREEF Investment, a fund controlled by Deutsche Bank Group, applied to Poland’s antimonopoly authority to take over the Stary Browar shopping mall in Poznań. The seller is Fortis Nowy Stary Browar, a vehicle owned by Grażyna Kulczyk. Located on Półwiejskia street, Stary Browar is Poznań’s flagship retail scheme. This is Kulczyk’s second attempt to offload the project, after the collapse of takeover talks in 2011 with Hedan.
The Stary Browar acquisition is part of RREEF’s strategy to buy Poland’s prime assets. The fund acquired two Warsaw office buildings last year: Rondo 1 and Metropolitan.
