After a years-long approval process, Hesta Immobilien was finally given permission to expand its Seemaxx outlet center in Radolfzell from 4,500 sqm to 8,500 sqm. The developer had originally wanted to expand the project to 10,000 sqm. However, regulations for mid-sized regional centers, like Radolfzell, which is located near Germany’s Lake Constance, stipulate that projects can only offer up to 5,000 sqm of GLA. Exceptions can be made on a case-per-case basis. The permit process should be completed for the Seemaxx center by January 2015, and the expansion is scheduled for delivery in summer 2016.
