Medallion Homes has acquired a 49 acre development site near South Tamiami Trail and Bispham Road in Sarasota County for $3.9 million. The homebuilder plans to develop a gated community with 108 homes on what was previously the Gulf Gate Golf Course. The plans will go before the Sarasota County Commission for approval this July. Medallion’s owner, Carlos Beruff, is currently running for a seat in the U.S. Senate.
