As confidence grows that the coronavirus contagion has been contained, the Czech government revealed that it will loosen restrictions on the country’s retail network by allowing more stores to re-open. But rather than allowing certain types of stores to open for business, the government will be deciding on the basis of size and whether customers can be prevented from forming clusters. What that size will be, however, won’t be made public until sometime during the Easter holiday. Speaking live on television last night while wearing a face mask, prime minister Andrej Babiš appealed to Czechs to stay home during the holiday, calling the next four days critical in the fight against the virus. He said contact tracking using smart phones would get underway next week and said his goal was to test up to 20,000 people daily.
