Skanska welcomes new tenant The Miners Coffee to Port 7

20 December 2023

Skanska’s multifunctional Port7 project will welcome the eighth Prague café of The Miners Coffee chain, which will enrich the new social and business centre of Prague 7. This is the next step in transforming a forgotten brownfield site into a vibrant space for tenants, visitors and local residents. This unique combination of premium design spaces with specialty coffee specialists makes Port7 an ideal place for work and leisure.

Coffee chain The Miners Coffee has chosen Port7 for its newest location, where it will occupy a 220 sqm space right at the entrance to Nádraží Holešovice station. This attractive location will make the café an ideal place for visitors to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of the new Holešovice business and social centre.

The Miners Coffee has been choosing unique locations for its branches since the opening of its first café in 2019. It offers its customers a pleasant space to work and relax. The concept of the Port7 project by DAM.architects perfectly matches The Miners Coffee’s vision of combining design and quality coffee.

“We are excited to be involved in the development of the newly emerging Port7 destination in Prague’s Holešovice. In addition to opening our new café on the waterfront overlooking the vineyards, we will also be using the space as a new management base for The Miners Coffee. Just as our network of cafes across Europe is growing, so too is our management team at head office. Many companies wish they had a great coffee shop in their office. We will have a great office in our excellent coffee shop. And we are happy to share it with other tenants and visitors to Port7,” says Oldrich Valta, co-founder and CFO of The Miners Coffee.

Port7 is located between Nádraží Holešovice station and the Vltava river bank. It is Skanska’s latest mixed-use project and offers 36,000 sqm of premium sustainable office and retail space.

“The new branch of Prague’s finest café chain confirms our commitment to providing the best service to our tenants and all visitors to Port7. We are committed to building not just an office centre, but above all a living space where people will feel comfortable – whether they are working or spending their leisure time,” says Iva Vařechová, Leasing Manager at Skanska, the commercial development unit in the Czech Republic.

Port7 offers more than just offices and shops. It is a new community centre with a 17,000 m2 public park, a new cycle path along the Vltava River and an underpass connecting the site to the Holešovice railway station. Skanska has also built a community garden to promote a neighbourhood atmosphere.

In line with Skanska’s focus on sustainability, Port7 is targeting LEED Platinum and WELL Platinum certifications and the WELL Health-Safety Rating, which assesses the health of the building’s tenants and visitors in the post-pandemic era.
