Slovak PM says nuclear expansion priority for country

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has taken part in negotiations with Enel, which owns a majority share in Slovenských elektrární (SE). The meeting which was also attended by the country’s minister of economy, concentrated on the construction of the third and fourth blocks of the Mochovce nuclear power plant. Fico said that such meetings are to be expected since the state has a share in the the company and that expansion is a priority for Slovakia. SE produces nearly 82 percent of all the energy originating in Slovakia. Enel holds a 66-percent share, while the state holds the reminder.
