Spar is planning to invest HUF 1.6bn to renovate seven of its stores in Hungary. Spar stores are operated by 81 franchise partners. A total of 1,300 workers are employed by the chain, with more than half of the stores operating in Budapest. Spar Magyarország had 456 stores in Hungary at the end of 2015 and reported HUF 488bn in revenue last year.
