The commercial spaces at the Șefan cel Mare metro station have started to be demolished, in the conditions in which Metrorex warned that the evacuation procedures of these spaces, owned by the USLM union company would start this week since the term granted for their release expired on April 2.
According to the company, the danger they pose to the safety of passengers and subway infrastructure is imminent because: spaces are obstacles to the escape route in case of emergency, make it difficult to access indoor hydrants; no construction after 2010 has ISU approval.
“Metrorex announced more than a week ago that it has notified the company that manages the commercial subway spaces that, as a matter of urgency, all commercial spaces located inside the subway stations should be released and handed over to the underground transport network administrator until April 2, because “they endanger the safety of underground transport, with direct impact on fire safety requirements and evacuation of people in case of emergency,” it is mentioned in the statement sent by Metrorex.
