Rumors that the embattled UK supermarket retailer Tesco is considering selling some of its stores in Central Europe have spread to Hungary, according to media reports today. The country’s press agency says Tesco’s Hungarian business may be packaged together with its networks in Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Another possibility is that Tesco will stay in Hungary but will offload some of its assets. Tesco has not publicly commented on the matter, saying its policy is not to react to market speculation.
