Tesco launches Neighborhood Markets for convenience shopping

1 November 2018

Tesco is trying out Neighborhood Markets, a new store format that caters to customers interested in quick stops for basic groceries. The retailers says many of its customers like to buy fruit, vegetables and bread products often so that they’re fresh and are turned off by being forced to walk through an entire store to do so. Neighorhood Market will offer these types of goods (50 percent of the total offering) near the entrance so people can walk in, make their purchases and walk out again quickly. The first Tesco of its kind opened yesterday in the Luka neighborhood in southwest Prague. Seventeen more, most around 1,000 sqm, are due to open by the end of the year.
