Tesco is moving its CEE operational center from Poland to the Czech market, according to local media reports, resulting in substantial layoffs. Out of 120 employees, Tesco will hold on to just four, according to news reports, and all strategic decisions will now be made by the Czech team, headed by David Morris, the company’s CEE’s director.
Since spring, Tesco has been establishing a management team to oversee the Polish, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian markets, where it operates 1,000 stores. The UK retailer has 450 locations on the Polish market.
