Tesco sells off My department in central Prague

2 March 2018

Tesco continues its real estate sell-off as it’s allegedly put its department store “My” next to Quadrio on sale. The server e15 writes that the building’s valuation came in at CZK 950 million and that the buyer is Amadeus Real, which also acquired Tesco’s department store in Pilsen last year. The company’s spokesman Václav Koukolíček said that the older buildings are well located but must be modernized. “For that reason, we’re looking for alternative uses for them so that they can serve people and their surroundings better. The same applies to the My department store on Národní street.” He said that the building will continue to operate as a department store, with a Tesco store in the basement.
