Tesla opens Prague service center

3 May 2019

The first authorized Tesla service point in CEE has open in Prague’s Vysočany district, with sales expected to be launched there at some point in the future. The first step for the company will be to let customers pick up vehicles they purchase on-line at the new center. The center’s manager Tomáš Novotný told Lidové noviny that repairs services were being rolled out but that the process of hiring and training local mechanics was still ongoing. “We have mechanics from other European service centers who are doing training, basic repairs and service,” he said. That’s good news for the 400 reported Tesla owners in the Czech Republic, at least for those who live closer to Prague than to the nearest service centers in Austria and Germany. Government figures claim that half of all Teslas are owned by people living in and around Prague, with 21 registered in the village of Černošice. Repairs will also be cheaper in Prague than in those countries.
