In three quarters of the year, builders in the Pardubice region completed roughly 15 percent more flats than in the previous period. The number of housing starts, on the other hand, fell by almost eight percent. Most of the construction is taking place in the Pardubice Region. It results from the data of the Czech Statistical Office.
Construction companies completed 1,260 flats in the region, with an increase in the districts of Pardubice, Svitavy and Chrudim. In the Orlicko Ústí region, completed housing construction fell by almost 30 percent year-on-year.
In the region, builders started construction of 1,552 flats from January to September. Single-family houses prevailed. Only the Pardubice district recorded an increase of almost 30 percent. In other districts, the number of housing starts decreased by about 20 to 65 percent. The biggest drop was recorded in the Svitavy district.
In most of the regions, except for Karlovy Vary and South Moravia, housing starts fell year-on-year. In the Czech Republic, there was a decline of less than 15 per cent in January-September 2023, with 27,305 dwellings started. Builders completed 25,956 dwellings, down 3.5 per cent year-on-year.
