Three major retailers targeting Borská pole in Pilsen

Three international retail chains plan to build outlets in the Borská pole industrial zone in Pilsen. The French sport retailer Decathlon already has a retail warehouse already underway, while construction on an outlet for the German DIY Bauhaus has started as well. Both projects are scheduled for completion in March or April.
Decathlon chose a location next to Tesco, where it plans to introduce a new concept to the Czech market, including a mini sports’ grounds, which will also customers to test the goods they buy. The third retailer looking at the Borská pole zone is IKEA, which plans to start construction in Pilsen within two years. The furniture retailer is in negotiations with Škoda or AP Trust to buy land, as the city no longer own big enough plots in Borská pole, the Pilsen deputy mayor Petr Rund told ČTK.
