Total industrial labor productivity in Croatia decreased by 0.2 percent

Croatia’s industrial output for March was roughly equal to its February numbers, but was 2.7 percent off the pace from March 2019. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics found the biggest decrease in employment among tobacco products companies while textile production saw an increase of 9.8 percent. Overall, however, most sectors recorded drops in employment, especially in shipbuilding, where the number of jobs fell by 19.5 percent. Petroleum producers cut staffing by 18 percent compared to March 2019 while machinery and fashion producers saw reductions of 11.1 and 7.5 percent respectively.
