George Trabelssie, through his company Mirage Shopping Center, signed a deal to buy the old, 1970s Prior department store in Nitra from Tesco. Trabelssie also purchased a similar asset in Žilina from Tesco last year. Trabelssie intends to rebuild Prior and its surroundings and will unveil the project plans in a few months, according to his spokeswoman, Ivana Strelcová. Tesco will operate a hypermarket in the new shopping center Trabelssie is planning at the location. Tesco still has two old Prior properties it bought from K-Mart when it entered the Slovak market in 1996.
