Employees at the airline Tuifly are protesting against job cuts as part of a series of cost-cutting measures announced by management. They’re accusing the company of poor financial management and are threatening severe industrial action. “We will use all means to oppose management’s plans to fire a large number of employees and we’ll fight for every job, no matter where they are in our company,” read a letter by labor representatives to employees. They’re arguing that management is simply using the pandemic crisis as a pretext to carry out job cuts it had planned anyway. The company has already received €1.8bn in state aid.
