UBS acquires Link Investimentos in Brazil

Switzerland’s diversified financial conglomerate UBS has acquired Brazilian independent brokerage firm, Link Investimentos, in a bid to boost its wealth management and onshore investment banking services in the country.

The acquisition will strengthen UBS Brasil’s operations and enables the company to deliver various services related to equity derivatives, equities, options, exchange-traded fixed income, currencies and commodities in the local and global markets.
Link Investimentos will be known as UBS Brasil Corretora. The Swiss lender has launched a new office in São Paulo’s financial district, which will be the new headquarters of UBS Brasil.

Operating in more than 50 nations, UBS employs approximately 63,000 staff and provides an array of financial products and services, including retail banking, private banking, and wealth management services across the globe.

Established in 1998 as an independent brokerage firm, Link Investimentos serves an institutional client base in the futures, options, over-the-counter, variable income, private and government bonds, local and international commodity markets.
