Unibail-Rodamco acquired a 50-percent stake in CGI Metropole, a company that owns the Metropole Zličín shopping center on the outskirts of Prague 5. The price of the deal was not disclosed. The transaction further strengthens the French group’s position on the Prague market, as it also owns the dominant shopping complexes OC Chodov in Prague 4 and Černý Most in Prague 9 and is planning to build another one in Prague 7-Bubny in cooperation with CPI PG. Hospodářské noviny, which broke the news, write that Unibail-Rodamco is considering expanding Metropole Zličín just as it did with its shopping centers in Chodov and Černý Most. The 55,000 sqm Metropole Zličín with 150 shops and a multiplex may be expanded by an additional 15,000 to 20,000 sqm, according to the daily.
