Vestmoldtransgaz in Moldova sold for $10.9m

The Romanian gas transmission company Transgaz has completed a deal to acquire its Moldovian counterpart Vestmoldtransgaz for $10.9m. In the following two years, Transgaz will invest more than $115m into the company through its Moldovian subsidiary Eurotransgaz. The acquisition and subsequent investments are expected to open the way to new jobs and to increase the energy security of both countries. Vestmoldtransgaz transports gas between Iasi in Romania and Ungheni in Moldova. Transgaz made a $160m net profit in 2017.
