The rest of the companies in the Czech Republic may be complaining about the lack of labor, but Amazon’s recruitment machine continues to pull them in. Already up to 4,500 employees nationwide, the online giant hopes to have 5,000 by year’s end. The secret, according to its spokesman, because it offers attractive benefits, career development and competitive wages. “I’m pleased that the recruitment of new employees in the Czech Republic is proceeding more quickly than we’d planned,” said the HR director for Amazon Germany and CE Karel Foltyn. The number of employees taking advantage of Amazon’s educational program called Career Choice rose from 80 in 2016 to 360. It allows employees to complete their school leaving exams or to study at a graduate level.
