Fresh Market opened in Bratislava’s Nové Mesto neighborhood yesterday with just one third of its units open. All 75 units on 4,100 sqm of retail space should be fully operational before the end of March. Part of the space in the new Fresh Market has been leased by retailers who were present in the original Ikea building, which has been transformed into a client center for the state administration. A new supermarket concept called Yeme is to open its first store in the same building next week. The chain was established by former employees of Tesco, Billa, Terno, Hypernova and Lidl, and claims that it will focus on fresh food, on offer at slightly higher prices.
