The German-based fashion e-shop Zalando has begun taking orders in the Czech Republic, making good on previous promises to launch service over the summer. The company sees potential in the strong Czech economy, according to lupa.cz, but also in the low market share e-shops have in fashion sales – just 8 percent. In Germany, the fiture is 15 percent. But the Czech market is also attractive because it’s close to Zalando’s existing logistics network, with the nearest warehouse roughly six hours away. Zalando will offer free shipping and a waiting time of 3 – 5 days. Zalando is a public company traded on the Xetra bourse in Frankfurt.
