Councillors of the Zlín Region have approved the completion of transport and technical infrastructure connecting the western part of the Strategic Industrial Zone (SIZ) Holešov in the Kroměříž region with its central part. The estimated cost is CZK 584 million. The construction works should start next summer and be completed by the end of 2027, according to Jan Vandík from the regional department of communication and external relations.
Currently, according to Deputy Governor Lubomír Traub (ODS), about 85 percent of the land plots for smaller incoming investors in the central part of the zone have already been sold or contracted. “It is therefore necessary to continue preparing other plots for sale. Without this, it will be impossible to attract new investors to the zone,” Traub said.
The concept of the development of the Holešov SPZ, which covers 360 hectares, envisages a diverse occupation of the zone in terms of industry and the size of investors, according to representatives of the regional government. “A comprehensive area for large projects of over 50 hectares with the possibility of further expansion will be left,” said Vandík. Other areas will be designated for public space, leisure activities and additional services.
“The completion of the new infrastructure will include water and gas distribution, storm and sewage sewers, telecommunication networks, public lighting, special-purpose roads, cycling and pedestrian paths, as well as landscaping,” added regional councillor Zbyněk Fojtíček (ODS).
