Zoot opening pick-up points in smaller Czech towns

17 September 2019

Zoot’s recovery is continuing with the opening of new pick-up points in smaller towns around the Czech Republic. A year ago, the online fashion retailer was collapsing under the weight of excessive debt and an unprofitable operational system. But the company’s debts were bought up by the investment firm Natland at a fraction of their nominal value and new crisis managers were put in place. Today, the company is implementing a new sales strategy, in which customers can pick up their goods at Zoot stores for a fee of CZK 49. Customers who use the package delivery service Zasilkovna pay nothing for delivery. Many of the online retailer’s original pick-up points in the largest Czech cities were closed but the new strategy involves opening outlets in select smaller towns. So far, Zoot has opened pick-up points in Nové Městě nad Metují, Písek, Příbram and Strakonice. But it’s still trying to make up ground lost to Zalando and About You, which moved in quickly while Zoot was in freefall.
