The Czech CD and vinyl shop Bontonland is going out of business, 25 years after it began. The company’s shareholders have decided to call it a day, given the radically altered landscape of the music industry. The daily E15 broke the news, with confirmation from the appointed liquidator Marek Odrboina. The company will wind down operations by January 15, 2020. Bontonland, which has a network of 10 stores, was acquired by the producer Lešek Wronka in 2011. The company formed a joint venture with the music company Supraphon called Supraphon Entertainment in September which E15 reports has incorporated the online stores of both shareholders.
