Prague’s Pařížská street rents highest in CEE

26 January 2017

Pařížská street in Prague is the most expensive shopping street in the CEE region with prime rents rocketing to €220/sqm/month, according to a recent CBRE report. Prague’s main shopping high street, Na Příkopě, follows closely with prime rents at €215/sqm/month. On a global level, London rents have seen the biggest growth, increasing by nearly 54 percent, according to CBRE. New York, however, has the highest rents worldwide at €3,277/sqm/month, followed by Hong Kong, where rents have dropped by 33 percent. In Prague, lack of retail space has forced retailers to look beyond Pařížská and Na Příkopě. Tomáš Beránek of CBRE predicts Prague’s high street rents will increase by 5 percent in 2017.
