The US billionaire Warren Buffett’s Dairy Queen fast food chain will enter the Polish market this spring, the Wall Street Journal reports. The first store will open in Warsaw with 25 more planned across the country. Dairy Queen is teaming with long-time franchise partner Sparrow 4, which will be in charge of growing the chain over the next five years. This is the first step toward further expansion in the CEE region.
Present in 20 markets, DQ-Sparrow 4 operates 6,200 restaurants, with 4,800 locations across the US. The chain is returning to the European markets after a two-decade absence. The company has tried its hand in Austria, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia.
