The Belgian retailer Mega Image will open a 7,000 sqm concept store in Bucharest at the end of this month which along with a sales area includes a warehouse and underground parking, according to company sources.
According to ZF, it will be Mega Image’s biggest store on the local market, as Mega Image supermarkets usually range between 500 sqm and 1,000 sqm, while its Shop & Go stores offer just 150 sqm of selling space.
Mega Image has opened two stores this month in Bucharest: one at City Mall shopping center and one in Floreasca area.
Overall, the company has 195 stores in Romania, of which 88 opened last year while two were established this year. In 2011, the company achieved a turnover of €288m, almost 40 percent higher than in 2010.
