The owner of Czech fast-food chain Paneria, United Backeries, has taken over Bäcker správní. The move will bring in 35 more restaurants into the Paneria network, as the existing Mistr Bäcker are to be re-branded, and pushes the company ahead of KFC into second position. McDonalds continues to lead the way, with 89 restaurants, followed by Paneria with 68 outlets and KFC with 56. The expansion plans of United Backeries include opening ten new outlets and launching a new small-shop concept called Paneria Express in 2012.
