VGP DONATES EUR 3 MILLION TO SUPPORT UKRAINIAN REFUGEES IN NEIGHBORHOOD COUNTRIES
VGP NV, a European provider of high-end logistics and semi-industrial real estate, announces a charitable contribution of EUR 3 million to support refugees from Ukraine in Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
VGP deeply condemns violations of international law and the Russian regime’s aggression against Ukraine. He is on the side of the Ukrainian people, whose numerous representatives are working on VGP construction sites and their families and houses are being shelled. Our thoughts are with innocent civilians who are suffering, as well as individuals and families in neighboring countries and around the world who have been affected by the events. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than one million people have already fled the country and the number is expected to continue to rise.
VGP has a long-term presence in Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, ie in neighboring countries with Ukraine. In view of the urgent and overriding humanitarian needs of refugees from Ukraine, the VGP has decided to provide a charitable contribution of EUR 3 million, ie EUR 1 million for each of the three countries. Due to the rapid development of events on the ground, the VGP will deploy resources locally, in close cooperation with the VGP leadership in the country concerned, which will be selected by humanitarian organizations recognized by UNHCR.
