Businessman Omer Susli, the owner of the Homelux interior decoration stores, bought the River Plaza Mall in Râmnicu Vâlcea from the Portuguese real estate developer Sonae Sierra.
The Portuguese took a loan from BRD, and the current balance is EUR 17.26 million. Omer Susli took over the shares held by Sonae Sierra in the River Plaza Mall company with a symbolic value of EUR 1 and also took over the loan from BRD.
“The transaction lasted a year and a half. All multi-storey malls have been severely affected in the last two years by the pandemic. River Plaza occupancy is around 80 percent, but not enough if you don’t have traffic. Many times, the restaurant area operated at 30 percent capacity due to Covid restrictions. In the last months, the security guard requests the green certificate, and the unvaccinated people cannot enter the mall “, Omer Susli said.
