YIT is set to expand its Ranta Barrandov residential project in Prague 5 with the launch of its third phase, adding 56 new units to the 259 apartments already developed in the previous stages. The new phase will incorporate energy-efficient features for environmentally friendly living, with construction expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026. The developer has already begun selling the units.
The third phase, located on Schránilova Street, will consist of two residential buildings and one commercial property, the latter designed to house a medical facility. The residential buildings, ranging from four to eight stories, will offer apartments with layouts from 1+kk to 3+kk, with sizes varying from 30 to 84 square meters. The units will come equipped with kitchen facilities, and amenities will include a bike and pet washing station, as well as a carriage room. Additionally, three commercial spaces on the ground floor will cater to local services, such as restaurants. The development will feature ample parking, with private wall chargers for electric cars and a public charging station installed during earlier phases.
“Ranta Barrandov has always attracted great interest due to its tranquil location, low energy consumption, and modern amenities,” said Dana Bartoňová, sales director at YIT Stavo. “This expansion will offer more opportunities for people seeking comfortable, eco-friendly living close to nature, yet with all the conveniences of city life.”
Design and Environmental Focus
Designed by C.A.I.S. architects, the third phase maintains the minimalist, timeless Finnish-inspired architecture seen in the previous phases. The new buildings will feature sloping corners and a white façade with crystalline details. A small square will link the buildings, providing a pleasant seating area for residents.
Sustainability is a key focus in the Ranta Barrandov III project, with YIT incorporating photovoltaic panels to assist in heating water and heat pumps as the main heat source. Apartments will feature triple-glazed windows, a Smart Home system, local heat recovery units, and underfloor heating, with the top floors prepped for air conditioning. The developer also plans to use prefabrication technology in parts of the construction and will introduce green retention roofs on top of the underground garages.
Convenience and Connectivity
The Barrandov district offers a full range of civic amenities, including schools, medical facilities, shops, and restaurants. For larger shopping needs, residents can visit Metropole Zličín or OC Nový Smíchov. The area also boasts excellent transport links, with quick access to Prague’s main roads and the city center, which is just 15 minutes away by car. Public transport options, including trams and buses, connect the area to metro lines B and C.
Ranta Barrandov is also perfect for those who enjoy an active lifestyle. Nearby, there are playgrounds, an outdoor gym, and mini-golf facilities. Residents can also enjoy the nearby Prokopské údolí for hiking and sports, as well as the Barrandov Rocks nature trail, Dalejský Brook valley, and the Homolka Nature Reserve. For family-friendly activities, the Malá Chuchle Forest Park and Velké Chuchle racecourse are easily accessible. A cycle path connecting Barrandov with Velká Chuchle adds another dimension to the active living experience.
