The German retail chain Lidl has bought more land in Serbia for a reported €1.9m. The discount grocer paid €1.9m for the plot in Novi Sad in a public tender. Lidl plans to build a store on the 12,000 sqm plot. It would be the company’s second store in Novi Sad, but as yet, no construction schedule has been set. Lidl built its first store at the corner of Bulevar vojvode Stepe and Bulevar Evrope on land that it paid the city €1.2m for in 2012.
