The owner of the grocery store chain Biedronka, Jeronimo Martins, announced its massive expansion plans for Poland this week, claiming the local retail market is not yet saturated. According to Tomasz Suchański, managing director of Biedronka in Poland, the company could open 1,000 new stores across Poland by the end of 2015, in cities such as Warsaw, Katowice, Poznań, Wrocław and TriCity. The number of store openings this year has reached 250, a 50 percent expansion across Poland over the period.
