Billa will open two supermarkets in the cities of Slatina and Mangalia on Thursday. The retailer’s new store in Mangalia will have a sales area of 857 sqm, while the one in Slatina will have a sales area of 918 sqm.
Billa now has 70 stores in its regional network and plans to open more locations before the end of the year, according to Sorana Georgia, general manager of Billa Romania. At the end of 2011, the retailer was operating 61 supermarkets in the country.
Billa is part of the German Rewe Group which also runs the Penny and Penny XXL discount stores.
