The British DIY retailer Kingfisher, the owner of Brico Dépôt, has increased its sales in Romania. The 35 locally operated Brico Dépôt stores achieved sales of EUR 334.6 million last year, up 15 percent from the previous year. Losses decreased by 21.3 percent.

“Despite the context, Romania recorded the second highest growth in the group last year, the results of Brico Dépôt being overall on an upward trend,” said the British retailer.

Kingfisher entered the local market in 2013, after acquiring the Bricostore chain of stores. In 2017, the group acquired the Praktiker chain of stores from Turkish businessman Omer Susli, for which it paid EUR 22 million.
