Czech Radio (CRo) has launched an online broadcast of live broadcasts by the Ukrainian public broadcaster UA: PBC in the Czech Republic. According to the Czech Radio, this should serve to inform Ukrainians in the Czech Republic, including refugees, about the current situation in their homeland invaded by Russia. The radio announced it in a press release yesterday. The non-stop broadcasting of Ukrainian radio was launched by ČRo on its website and in the mobile application mujRozhlas.cz at the request of UA: PBC.
Russia, which launched a military attack on Ukraine on February 24, also shelled a television tower in the Ukrainian capital Kiev on Tuesday. “Yesterday’s (Tuesday) attack by Russian troops on the TV tower in Kiev also limited FM radio broadcasts and UA: PBC journalists found themselves in a critical situation that we can hardly imagine,” Czech Radio CEO René Zavoral said yesterday. According to him, the Czech Radio is in daily contact with its Ukrainian colleagues and also provides them with technical assistance and assistance in arranging broadcasting.
Radio Prague International, which provides foreign broadcasting by Czech Radio, will also publish a podcast entitled News for Ukrainians in the Czech Republic every day from next week. The podcast will be in Ukrainian and, according to the Czech Radio, will contain practical information for Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic.
