Datart is opening a new store with a kitchen studio at the Eurovea shopping center in Bratislava today. The electronics retailer is replacing Marks & Spencer, which closed its shop at the center earlier this year. Datart took 2,000 sqm on the lower underground floor, while Decathlon leased 1,800 sqm vacated by M&S on the ground floor of Eurovea and plans to open its fifth store in Slovakia this fall.
Datart, meanwhile, is planning to open another location in Trenčín and modernize its existing stores, as part of its Slovak expansion. The store in Eurovea is Datart’s third location in Bratislava and 13th in Slovakia. Datart is currently in the process of merging with HP Tronic, which operates Euronics stores as well as the Kasa.cz and Hej.sk e-shops. Genesis Private Equity Fund III will acquire a minority share in the structure, which reports €574m in annual revenue from a network of 130 stores.
