Denton Plaza goes to MidAtlantic RE for $12m

29 September 2017

MidAtlantic Real Estate Investments has acquired Denton Plaza, a retail center in Denton, Caroline County, Maryland for $12 million. The 100,000 square foot center rests on a 12 acre site at Legion Road & Route 404. Currently 73 percent leased, notable tenants in the scheme include Rite Aid, Dollar Tree, Mattress Firm, Petco, Great Clips, YMCA, Verizon, Choice One Urgent Care, and Liberty Tax. Neuman Commercial Group exclusively represented the seller, Black Oak Associates, and procured the buyer. “Despite investor over-correction in response to national retailer bankruptcies and now Amazon/Whole Foods, well located necessity-based retail centers maintain heavy demand,” stated Gil Neuman, Principal of Neuman Commercial Group, LLC. “The sellers of Denton were rewarded for creating significant value, while the buyer acquired a high-traffic retail draw with immediate further value-add potential.”
