New shopping zone rising in Čestlice

12 December 2017

For those who thought that the era of major shopping center development was over, plans by Domo Development and PSJ Investors will come as something of a surprise. The two have bought most of the land needed to build a new hypermarket-anchored shopping zone at a cost of around CZK 1.5bn. According to e15, the developer CBE Development is running the project and handling land acquisitions of land across the D1 from the existing Čestlice shopping zone, on the southeast edge of Prague. The news server refers to its previous speculation that a new IKEA store is due to be built in the new zone, but the company insists that no final decision has been made on where its next outlet will be. Significant work has already been carried out on infrastructure in and around the zone, including utilities, and roads.
